Hypochlorous acid (HOCL) is the natural substance your white blood cells produces for healing and protection, it is your immune system’s first line of defense against any form of infection; if you happen to be in a bacterial, fungi or virus contagious place right now, your body is producing one as you read this! HOCL plays an important role in mammals’ immune system as powerful oxidant that is effective against invading bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The same Hypochlorous acid can now be produced through a technology called electrolysis; yet, so gentle and effective, mostly used in wound healing products, healthcare, food safety, water treatment, and general sanitation.
Error in dilution is common in chemical based disinfectant, because many users are not patient enough to follow the prescribed information by the manufacturer. In the case of P-H2O, this is not applicable, as it is used at the prepared concentration, no mix or dilution. Locally produced by the most commonly available and edible ingredients; thus, make it to be eco-friendly and non-toxic, these qualified it to be much better choice for people and the planet. The best part is, it does all of this without any chemical residue, harmful fumes, or flammable explosives.
Electrolysis is a technology that allow an extremely low electricity to pass through saltwater (NaCl + H2O), thereby, the sodium (Na) separates from the chloride (Cl). Chloride is negatively charged and is attracted to the positive side of the electrical charge where it bonds with oxygen and hydrogen (HO) from the water, and gets converted from Cl- to HOCl, otherwise known as hypochlorous acid, the active ingredient in the Electrolyzed water. The sodium (Na) is positive and is thus attracted to the negative charge, where it also bonds with oxygen and hydrogen (HO) from the water, then electrochemically converted to NaOH, otherwise known as sodium hydroxide, a cleaning compound commonly found in soaps and detergents. This is a complete process of Electrolysis, but note that, there is no special type of water to use, just ordinary tap water will do. But, since the mineral content of water can vary from tap to tap, and the hardness or softness of your water can't be measured, we've decided to introduce Vinegar to help in achiving a consistent output. Vinegar, helps to achieve the right pH of P-H2O. It is the pH that determine whether the solution is at the right concentration of hypochlorous acid that is safest for humanity and environment, yet potent enough to kills 99.9% of germs.
Without the right pH, you could get a solution that is mostly bleach (sodium hypochlorite), but when the pH is at the right level, hypochlorous acid becomes the end product, which is so gentle compared to bleach. Hypochlorous acid is being used in many countries right now in the fight against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. Hypochlorous is a powerful oxidant and is 100 times more efficient at killing microbial pathogens than bleach.
Because the output of the electrolysis process is largely dependent on the ratio of salt, water and vinegar; coupled with the fact that the type of salt required for the electrolysis process mostly comes in industrial size and not table salt size, GREENAID has shouldered the responsibility to have the salt in liquid form, and mixed with the required amount of Vinegar. It is advisable never to attempt to use the normal table salt, as it contain iodine and other chemical substances. Iodine, if involved in the process of electrolysis will end up producing another solution and not P-H2O. This may also end up damaging your P-H2O generating machine. The ratio of salt, water and vinegar matters in achiving the desired product (HOCL); so, never attempt to make your own.

Why we don't sell POWERED-H20?
You might be wondering why we encourage the use of our POWERED-H2O Generator to self-produce P-H2O solution rather than selling the produced solution in stores around you. The reason is that, just like bubbles in carbonated drinks, hypochlorous acid dissipates over time; that means a bottle of P-H20 sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse would lose its efficacy in just a couple of weeks. This is one of the top reasons for it not been seeing around over decades now, but only been used in the industrial space, where it is made in large tanks and used up on site.
POWERED-H20 vs BLEACH?
P-H20 and Bleach are very different! They have different chemical formulas; the formula P-H20 (Hypochlorous acid) is HOCl, it is the same substance your white blood cells produce to fight infection, and it’s so gentle, used in wound healing products. For Bleach (Sodium hypochlorite), the formula is NaOCl. Bleach is defined as solution with a pH of 11+, being at a concentration high enough to remove the color from fabric and lastly, 99%+ NaOCl. None of these apply to the composition of P-H20 (hypochlorous acid). An interesting fact is that you need a lot more bleach to achieve the same anti-microbial power as hypochlorous acid; the order of magnitude varies by microbe. In overall, P-H20 is a much more efficient antimicrobial than bleach, so you don’t need nearly as much. That is why it is used in so many industrial applications where gentleness (on for example on skin, animals, produce) is critical. Examples of some hypochlorous acid uses are eye, wound healing & veterinary care products.
POWERED-H2O vs Chemicalized Disinfectants
Chemical disinfectants could be hazardous to workers if they are not handled as prescribed in the right measure. Some of the chemical disinfectants are flammable and explosive. They may react with incompatible chemicals violently and generate toxic gases. All chemical disinfectants are, by their very nature, potentially harmful or toxic to living organisms. Just like other toxic substances, the chemical disinfectants could be harmful to humans upon entering the body.
However, the chemical disinfectants would be effective and safe tools when handled properly with the safety measures in place. If misused, they can be hazardous and harmful to workers.
P-H2O sanitizers and disinfectants are capable of killing 99.999% of the germs and bacteria we come into contact with on a regular basis, including the cold and flu virus, E.coli, MRSA and norovirus. The best part is, it does all of this without any chemical residue, harmful fumes, or flammable explosives.
If P-H20 is this great, why are people still using other Chemical disinfectant?
Even though this technology has been around for decades, you probably haven’t heard of it because it required industrial-size equipment costing over $10,000+ to make. Another reason is that P-H20 composition (hypochlorous acid) dissipates over time, like carbonation in a soft drink; that means, the shelf life isn’t long enough for P-H2O to travel through a typical retail distribution system like conventional cleaners. That is why P-H20 GENERATOR is a portable appliance – you make your solution right as demand in a minimum measure, at the cheapest rate and within your closet.
